Somatic Approach
Somatic experiencing is a therapy approach that targets trauma, depression, and anxiety through releasing stored emotions and regulating the nervous system. This practice is about learning how to experience, release, and move through emotions without becoming dysregulated.
Somatic therapy is a guided journey through an emotional process which allows the body and mind to experience and release blocked trauma to regain control over your emotions and reclaim joy in your life.

Getting out of the mind and into the body..
Emotional pain does not begin with a thought...We first experience a sensation, which sends a signal to our mind that something doesn't feel right. Our mind then goes to work on finding some rational for the discomfort, and surely enough provides us with a variety of "what's wrong in my life" narratives.
Have you ever woken up with a knot it your stomach and your brain immediately began to spin anxious stories of what can go wrong today? That's the cycle of unresolved trauma leading to negating thoughts, leading to more anxiety and depression.
We can not think our way out of emotional pain, otherwise we would have done so a long time ago. We are here to address and release that knot. The emotional symptoms such as anxiety, depression, self-criticism, and negative cycles are just that - symptoms.
Symptoms resolve when we target the root.
